All the non-news that’s unfit to print

11 03 2009

I’m a fan of politics-news aggregator memeorandum, so I was excited when I noticed ballbug, its baseball-news sister-site.  I’m not sure why they didn’t just make it a broad sports-news aggregator, although you do occasionally see non-baseball sports stories sneak in.

Maybe it’s because it’s spring training, but so far I’m seeing an enormous east-coast bias on ballbug.  More than half the stories seem to be about the Yankees, Red Sox or Mets, and frankly, I just don’t care that much about Duaner Sanchez.  Even if I were a Mets fan, I just can’t imagine the story, “Your team’s fifth-best relief pitcher just got cut,” being anything more than a one sentence story.

In economic news, today the Dow Jones Industrial Average  is up 0.1%.  And, in a related story, your favorite team’s fifth-best relief pitcher just got cut.
